Xiaomi launched it's flagship, the Mi 5 in the last week of March in India, an was available only from Mi.com through flash sale. Late last month the Xiaomi Mi 5 went on open sale forever. Now in order to boost the sales further Xiaomi has announced new online partners that will sell Mi 5.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is now available for purchase on Amazon India, Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Tata's new opened online store TataCliq. The Mi 5 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage model will be available on the aforementioned online platform for Rs. 24,999.
To recap the specifications, Xiaomi Mi 5 comes with 5.15-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 820 SoC w/ Adreno 530 GPU, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 16MP rear camera, 4MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, NFC, USB Type-C port, MIUI 7 based on Android Marshmallow and 3000mAh battery.
The move comes after LeEco launched its flagship, the Le Max 2 in India for Rs. 22,999 for the base model. Even though both Mi 5 and Le Max 2 flagships are powered by Snapdragon 820 SoC, on paper, Le Max 2 offers better specs than Mi 5.
The Le Max 2 comes with 5.7-inch QHD display, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 21MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner and 3100mAh battery. Not to forget, the Le Max 2 also comes with CDLA audio standard USB Type-C port instead of 3.5mm jack to connect earphones. Even with much better specs than Mi 5, LeEco has managed to keep the price cheaper.
Xiaomi for sure is feeling the heat and decided to expand the availability of Mi 5 to boost sales by roping in more online sales partner.
